About the Author Betty Lou Schlemm, A.W.S., D.F., has been painting for more than thirty years. Elected to the American Watercolor Society in 1964, and later elected to the Dolphin Fellowship, she has served as both regional vice president and director of the American Watercolor Society. Schlemm is also a teacher and an author. Her painting workshops in Rockport, Massachusetts are renowned. Her book Painting with Light, published by Watson-Guptill in 1978, has remained a classic. She also has recently published Watercolor Secrets for Painting Light, distributed by North Light Books, Cincinnati.
