Published in the familiar black, hard cover format of the BH collection on conservation, this book is truly the jewel in the crown of that series. a remarkable source of information on everything I always wanted to know, From the history of furniture and conservation to the mixing of isinglass and the cleaning of marble and if I want to know more, the extensive bibliographies at the end of each section will tell me where to go. If I owned only one book this would be the one.
Not only is it comprehensive, it is also eminently enjoyable to read.
