Editorial Reviews Book Description An international authority of paper and Senior Conservator for Paper at the Winterthur Museum, John Krill has written a detailed and interesting account of the evolution and types of paper available to artists in England from the Renaissance to the early nineteenth century.

The second chapter introduces the three major types of paper produced: white, brown, and blue. The third focuses on new products, especially papers for printing and drawing.
