About the Author DEBORAH DRYDEN is a professor of theatre at the University of California at San Diego. She has designed costumes for many theatres across the country, including the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland and Portland, the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, the Berkeley Repertory Theatre, the Minnesota Opera, the Mark Taper Forum, and the La Jolla Playhouse. She is also the costume designer for Malashock Dance and Company based in San Diego.In addition to designing costumes, Deborah has worked as a fabric dyer/painter at several theatres, including the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis and the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. She has conducted classes and workshops on fabric painting and dyeing throughout the United States and Canada.
