Interactive Manual and Photo-Library of Woody Landscape Plants
Editorial Reviews
Review
A trove of information...will be of benefit to all woody plants enthusiasts.
Michael A. Dirr's interactive DVD—based on his classic The Manual of Woody Landscape Plants (1975)—is a trove of information...the film is a useful, if somber, tale of the risks involved in introducing any nonnative species to a fragile habitat. Its focus on the West Coast makes it a must-have there.
This program is an excellent choice for those who are comfortable with newer library technology and interested in woody plants and landscaping. It will also appeal to professionals and people interested in plant photography. The program is a desireable addition for academic and public libraries that have the equipment to use this wealth of information in a format that requires very little shelf space.
As usual, Dirr has indeed produced an encyclopedic work.
Considered the bible of the green industry.
