Book Description
The Moving Picture World magazine was the industry standard during the silent cinema era. This is the first index compiled for all the films reviewed in the early volumes of this journal. Later, the magazine's editors provided an index, but researchers and scholars until now had to scour page-by-page each weekly issue from 1907-1915, which reviewed over 27,000 films during those years. Films are listed alphabetically by title, film manufacturers/distributors are listed with their films, full dates and page locations of reviews are included--providing easy access to reviews of theatrical films, news pictorials, series and serials, and early travelogues. The actual reviews are available through the Library of Congress on microfilm.
