Nature Photography: Through Four Seasons
Editorial Reviews Book Description In this comprehensive book Arnold Wilson shows that nature photography can be an all the year round activity not confined to just the Spring and Summer months. How each photograph was taken is described fully, and potential problems highlighted.
The author describes techniques for photographing both in the field and indoors. Action and movement is also covered including flying insects and birds, seed and pollen dispersal and leaping frogs.
The book concentrates on the four seasons, with a chapter on each, discussing animals and plants available in each season, then discussing methods of photographing them in the field as well as indoors. Also included is some basic photomicrography to show how fascinating photographs of the micro-world are well within the ability of an enthusiastic photographer.
Also recommended: "Photographing Butterflies and Other Insects." About the Author Arnold Wilson, a professional biologist, has spent his working life in teaching and lecturing, initially in schools, then as a Senior Lecturer at the City of Leeds College of Education, and finally in the School of Health and Applied Science, Leeds Polytechnic (now Leeds Metropolitan University). He was an early overall winner of the prestigious international "Wildlife Photographer of the Year" competition, and in 1985 a selection of his wildlife slides was exhibited at Expo 85 in Japan. Having taken early retirement, Arnold Wilson now divides his time between nature photography and writing and photography for classic car magazines.
