Editorial Reviews Dr Richard Zakia "What a beautiful, beautiful book of inspiring and meditative photographs-a profound tribute to your vision and to your being. With pleasure I gently turned each page and gazed with a deep sense of joy, and at times disbelief in teh image that was before me-simply exquisite-magnificent.

Thoughts of my dear friend, Minor White and his pioneering photography came to mind. Minor would have been in awe over your photographs as I was and am. They are a tribute to your vision, the unseen beauty in the State of Florida and to the great potential of photography, in the hands of an artist, to visually remind us that we are one with each other and that earth is indeed our mother- the mother archetypal Mother Earth-Earth Mother!

Quoted from "Dr Richard Zakia, Professor Emeritus School of Photographic Arts & Sciences Rochester Institute of Technology

This was a personal letter written to me with permission from Dr Zakia to use. Shutterbug Magazine December 1999 "This book is an obvious labor of love by a committed photographer with a distinct personal vision. Most self-publisged books are a dreary lot, and a reviewer begins to fell that they were self-published because no publisher would touch them. This is certainly not the case here. I don't know Dienst, but I would suspect from the lavish printing and binding that he self-published because he wanted to ensure his vision survived intact in the transition to printed form. It certainly looked like he succeeded. These photographs have obviously been made with time and great care. The photographer tells us that he uses 8/10 and 4/5 cameras for his work. That alone requires more patience than most photographers have today. Not only does he use these big, cumbersome cameras, but he uses them to great effect. The images are exceptional, and certainly among the best landscape and nature work I have seen. Dienst has a wonderful eye and a unique vision which certainly deserves to be better known. Lovers of fine black and white photography would be remiss not to add this book to their collection. Bob Shell Wet Land Voices
