About the Author Gil Fried, JD, is an associate professor at the University of New Haven in New Haven, Connecticut. He has taught sport facility management for more than 10 years and has written numerous articles, books, and book chapters on sport facility management issues. Fried speaks across the country on issues ranging from how to build and finance facilities to risk management concerns. As an attorney, Fried has represented numerous sport facilities and for more than 10 years has been the general counsel for several sport facility management associations. He has worked with the International Association of Assembly Managers (IAAM) and is developing the curriculum materials for the IAAM's Academy for Venue Safety and Security. Fried serves as counsel for the law firm of Sabia & Hartley (Hartford, CT) and Director of Risk Management for OR&L Facility Management (Branford, CT).
