About the Author
Susan Hogan, M.Ed., MFA, has participated extensively as an artist-in-residence in the public schools of New York City, and taught art and social studies for several years at Harbor School for the Performing Arts in East Harlem. She has taught courses in design, drawing, painting, collage, ceramics, and art education at William Patterson College, Caldwell College, the Newark Museum Arts Workshop, and Old Church Cultural Center Art School (all in New Jersey).
Ms. Hogan's work has been included in exhibits at the National Museum of Women in Arts, the Museum of New Mexico, The Montclair Art Museum, the Morris Museum, and the Noyes Museum. Her exhibition record of mixed media paintings includes twelve one-person shows. She has also done design development for fantasy films (Jim Henson Associates and Tony Walton), construction of props and puppets for movies and television, creative sculpture for dance companies and opera, and scenic art for student and regional theater. She was awarded a Visual Arts Fellowship in Mixed Media by the New Jersey State Council of the Arts.
