Editorial Reviews
Book Description
The monograph is a first-ever attempt at reconstructing on paper the monastery of Tho.ling, the most important religious site of West Tibet. Part 1 assesses the history of Tho.ling from its foundation in 996 by the monk-king Ye shes'od and the translator Rin chen bzang po, up to the 19th century. Part 2 uses hitherto unknown documents belonging to Tho.ling to identify all its temples, chapels, stupas and other buildings composing the monatic complex.
